i totally havent updated since november! which is funny because i read my friends page everyday. So lets see whats happened in the last 8 months..

-Kraig and i are engaged now!! Since february, actually. Its a wonderful thing :) We took pictures together the other day...maybe if i remember ill post one up. If not, look at my myspace :) We went to look at mcgoverns in fall river yesterday and got prices and whatnot..not too bad at all, includes everything! So we will see.

-Spring semester @ school was pretty good. Started out kinda bad, but i pulled it together and did pretty good! My clinical was awesome, i learned a ton and got to see a ton of things! This fall is supposed to be my hardest semester...so lots of studying for me!

-I no longer work at staples. I now work at st. annes hospital as a nurse tech! which is like an intern position, because i get to do a little more than the cna's...and i can see more too. So far i like it! I work on all floors so i just need to get used to other floors...then ill be all set! Oh yea, and i make 5 dollars more than i did at staples. so i wont be poor anymore!

-I got a new tattoo on my foot...its 6 stars outlined in black and 3 are shaded in pink. its cute! it hurt a bit though, i can take pain though :)

I think thats about it....that is important anyway. Now that you all are up to date i'll update in another few months :) lol. hopefully more than that! Everyone have a good summer!

~me

silly dog=2,000 dollars.

yesterday was pretty much the worst day i've had in a LONG time.

Thursday night my cat knocked over a music cassette tape. the dogs got it, and chewed it up. So yesterday, kraig and i came back from shopping to find cassette tape all over the floor. So i started to pick it up and kraigs like "its comming out of toby's butt.." im like ew so gross. So i try to pull it a little and he cried. I called the vet and we had to bring him right away. After we left him there for xrays and stuff he threw up the tape- so now it was commin out of his mouth AND asshole. freakin dog. anyway, the vet called me back 20 mins after we left him there and said he needed surgery to remove it. wonderful. total cost of surgery=900 dollars. so i had to get my mom over the phone from mexico to give them bruces credit card number cause i sure dont have 900 bucks. After the surgery was over, we had to bring him to bridgewater to be monitored overnight. this was at about 5pm

we had to be at a wedding at 530pm.

obviously we didnt make the ceremony. We brought tob to bridgewater. I almost killed us cause i missed the exit so i slammed on my brakes and swirved to make the exit. i totally had control though, haha. so the lady talked to me about the price. 1100 dollars. who in the fuck has that money? um, not me. so luckily they had this credit card called care credit- in which i got approved for 500$. that saved me lol. The least we'll have to pay for his stay at bridgewater is 687, the most is 1100. Hopefully he will come home tomorrow so i DONT have to pay the 1100!

So, total cost of dog eating tape= 2,000 georges. Ive been a nervoud wreck all of yesterday and today. As much as that dog doesnt behave, he is my little toby woby who i cant live without. I cried, lol. You really never know how much a pet means to you, until something bad happens to it. As of tonight, he was eating, pooping, walking around good so everything is looking good!

kraig stayed with me all week to help me with the dogs. he is wonderful.

Other than that episode, everything has been hectic, but okay. work is good, school is school, and home is home. Hope everyone is doing okay too!!

so whats been up in the world of laura...

all i do is go to school and work lately. im training at staples(and theres a lot of it) so hopefully once i finish all that i will be down to like 3 days as planned. I think im going to quit macys though. that way if i ever need to go in to staples an extra day it wont be a big deal. plus, i get payed more there. i dont want to be too overwhelmed with 2 jobs while going to school full time :P we'll see what happens.

school is going okay. so many tests and stuff though. its tough, but im managing. i cant wait for next semester...its going to be so much less stressful cause ill only have like 4 classes and a clinical. yey!

i love the fall. i love seeing the leaves blowing around on the road and the pretty colors n stuff. i dont like the high weather though...i want to wear my fall/winter clothes already! lol. i probably wont be able to do that until like december though because the temperature at umd is boiling. stupid school.

if i had the chance to transfer i would in a heartbeat. ive finally come to realize that i could have gone to someplace like salve or somewhere like that with a low student-teacher ratio. Its kind of rediculous having 200 kids in a nursing class...i learn zero. but, im here now and im just going to deal with it lol.

kraig and i are doing well as always. i havent seen much of him lately cause of work and school conflicts. actually i havent seen him since tuesday...and i wont see him until tomorrow for a little while. My moms leaving for mexico tomorrow for a week and kraigs staying over with me to help me watch the pups. The way our schedules work out next week are that every time im home, he isnt, and vice versa. it sucks but we'll manage =/

ive takin my coffee business elsewhere to tim hortons. im sick of getting a coffee at dunkin donuts and having to throw it out cause it sucks. extra extra means that it looks light and has double the amount of sugar that regular has. why cant they get that? the only one that makes good coffee is the dunkin in the center of town...but i dont always have time to go there.

i think thats about it for now. happy halloween-in-a-few-weeks!

Im still gunna stay at macys for like a day....but the hours i get there just arent enough, ya know? so probably 3 days at staples, 1 day at macys for now.

im in the process of cancelling my credit cards. i cancelled old navy, next is new york and company, then my first credit card i ever got haha. im guna keep my good credit card and probably american eagle. we'll see.

311 presale tickets go on sale tomorrow afternoon...SADIRA, if you read this today, let me know if u still want to go. its nov 23rd in lowell which means we'll leave early and get back late.
I wonder when people will realize that the "scene" has become homogeneous. It's full of 14 year old girls with uneven bangs, black and white striped shirts, and tattered low-top black Chuck Taylor’s, who swoon over homosexual kissing and pathetic whiny lyrics and overuse the symbols.

Their favorite quote is, invariably, "The truth is you could slit my throat and with my one last gasping breath I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt" because it like, so totally describes their relationship with that one HAWT sophomore who totally ripped their hearts out when they were like, SO in love with him.

Their favorite type of music is, of course, "emo, screamo, and hardcore", three terms which, in their minds, invariably include the bands Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, and Hawthorne Heights.

Their AIM screennames often include x's, the words "electrikk", "disaster", or some play on their favorite song from their favorite band, you know, the one they saw on MTV like a couple times, but shouldn't be on MTV because they're like, way too emo for that.

They take hundreds of black and white pictures with way too much contrast of themselves looking plaintively down at the ground, pointing a gun made of their fingers at their heads, or kissing the camera while displaying their expert application of lip gloss around their labret piercing and the thick dark eyeliner that circles their eyes.

They embrace the "dork" that is inside their polished, fashionable exteriors by writing in their LiveJournals or Xangas about how they and their friends had an 'N Sync sing-a-long at one of their sleepovers because, remember, 'N Sync is soooo not popular anymore and they like, sooo wouldn't follow any of the fads of today, so they embrace the fads of yesterday.

They adore "retro fashion", meaning anything from the 80's, because they totally used to wear neon colors and big beaded bracelets, even though they were born in, at the earliest, 1988 and remember jack shit about the fashion and culture of the 80's.

It's full of "emo boys" who often are difficult to differentiate from "emo girls", who have meaningless tattoos even though they're 15, smoke a lot of cigarettes, drink a lot of hard liquor, and are in some shitty band that plays a couple of gigs in someone's basement because they're "too cool to go mainstream" when really, they just suck.

They weigh roughly 90 pounds, wear girls' jeans that hug their asses in just the right places, belts buckled somewhere around the side of their right leg, tight striped 80's style polo shirts or band t-shirts, and skater shoes, even though they don't skate because that's soooo lame.

They write awful poetry about the dark abyss of their souls and how the gun is pointed at their heads, the trigger poised to blast away the bloody memories of a failed romance. They cried when Blink-182 broke up, and they have a secret obsession with Avril Lavigne because, like, she really IS kinda hot even though her music totally sucks.

They spend more time at the mirror than their female counterparts do, making sure that the long black shock of hair at the front of their heads lies covering one eye just so, that their lip piercing is perfectly placed so that it looks hot when they kiss other boys, that their pants are the right degree of tightness so as not to exude gayness.

Emo boys and girls often use the suffix "Xcore" to describe themselves, using a number of adjectives or nouns to accomplish this task. This is a play off hardcore music, or "hXc". Some of these descriptive words include "fashionXcore", "retroXcore", or even "yournamehereXcore."

This way of speaking is retarded or nonsensical to everyone else except those "in the scene", but it totally doesn't matter because they're too nonconformistXcore for anyone to truly understand their "scene".

They couldn't name a Sunny Day Real Estate or Rites of Spring song if it came up and bit them on their Gap Jeans-clad asses, and they claim to like the Smiths because Jesse Lacey of Brand New said they were cool.

Sure, they listen to some new "hardcore" bands, but they're all pretty much the same five bands:
1. Taking Back Sunday
2. Senses Fail
3. Fallout Boy
4. Hawthorne Heights
5. Story of the Year
To these promising young firecrackers, music takes a backseat to fashion in their scene of choice.

Emo girls just want to kiss emo boys, emo boys just want to kiss other emo boys, and they all want to wear tight pants and take lots of pictures of themselves. End of story. Because honestly? It's electrikk!

so i got this "free AOL from 1175 hours" cd in with one of my magazines. I decided to try it out because it CLEARLY says on the package "no credit card required!" so i thought i could use the 1175 hrs then cancel. I pop in the disc, and BAM what do they ask for? a credit card or a walmart card (lol). Then i click cancel, and they say "no credit card? no problem! we can put your balance on your phone bill"

silly aol. but i still want to try it because i havent had it in 5432154 years. and it IS cheaper than comcast...lol.

anyway, i have class in an hour and a half. Its so weird going back since ive had the last 4 or so months off. but in 15 weeks, ill get another month off :P college goes by so fast. and im excited because i start actual nursing stuff. woo!

Im going to florida to visit the fam in march with mom. im excited because i love vacations. hopefully she'll want to go to universal..since we went to disney last time. I pretty much only go for the dippin dots though. :P

Macys is going good. I like it, and its so easy. i get more money each week then i thought i would...so thats good! Im doing a good job of saving money too. even though its only been a week, my bank account has stayed the same. once my bills are paid off, im good to go.

so im done for now. ill let you know how my silly classes went today...even though i only have two!

so i got a job at macys. Its not part time yet, its called "on call." which means they have a schedule of hours that need to be worked each day, so i call up every week and pick up as many or as little of those hours as i want. so if i cant work on a certain day, i dont pick up hours for that day. This works out really good while im in school too. Then once the holidays come, i can work part time and make an extra .50 cents-ish per hour. It starts out at 7.25 because its "on call" not "part time" but she said as soon as she has a night part time job, i can take it. So im happy because now its like i can work around me. I go august 16th for traning and stuff. So im happy with the decision. All i need is money for my credit card bills right now. so hopefully this works out like planned!

i should have just gave one week at work instead of 2. now i have to work tomorrow, which is kraigs birthday. =[.

toby licks sunny's peepee uncontrolably. everytime i look over to them, sunny is sprawled out and toby is licking away. its disgusting already.

im going to florida in march with mommy. yey!

thats it for now...tata

i gave my 2 weeks today. she didnt seem pleased at all...but you know what? If im not happy going to work, i shouldnt work there. Being CNA isnt me. I want to be a nurse who deals with blood and guts...not poop and pee. Oh well, job hunting here i go. Anyone have any ideas?

My mom was giving me a hard time about it too. Just because it pays well, i should stay (so she thinks). Im sorry but im not her...thats exactly what she did with her life. She thinks im not going to get another job at all...yea thats it, i want to have NO money at all. Shes a fool. Does she honestly think EVERYONE in my nursing class at UMD is a CNA? no way! I want a regular "college kid" job that gives me enough money to pay my bills...i can cut down on the shopping.

I hope they dont hold like a grudge against me. she gave me a huge attitude on the phone which made me want to say forget the 2 weeks im giving 2 days.

SO....for now, if im gunna shop ill have to look for sales (lol). I want to work at a place like staples where sadira works....she makes me jealous that shes happy with her job and im miserable :P lol. Kraig and i want to save up money so that we can move out in the upcoming years...so i need to get a job where i wont mind working crazy hours in the summer.

Why is it that i dont feel relieved? I kind of feel nervous..

:-/

I do like the people though. while im in school i just want a normal, college student job...not a career job. so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. thanks!

so, the cruise was okay. it got better as the trip went on. 85% of the people on that boat were age 55 and up so there wasnt much for us youngins to do. We played cards most of the time. go figure. When we went onto land it was pretty cool. We had a lot of fun in bar harbor, maine because there were so many shops and stuff. it was cute. It could have been worse though. Im glad i got to go with kraig though, it was fun to be with him.

so not much has been going on lately. went back to work yesterday since july 7th and so many new patients popped in. Some of those people definitely dont need to be there, especially if they have someone to watch them at home for a while. heh.

Um...well there isnt much else to say cause i've been gone for a while. Kraig and i are going to see 311 on august 19th. that i am excited about!

UMD finally put the deans list in the paper...its about time we get some damn recognition like all the other schools! lol

okay im done. bye!

ps: as of today, my sunny is no longer a man. haha!

so i got the new pug. hes cute, poor thing i feel bad for him. the woman was a "breeder" and kraig and i could tell all she wanted was money. I guess his sperm doesnt have good DNA or whatever, so she didnt want him. she kept him in a kennel all the time and paid no attention to him. when we took him outside on the leash, he didnt know what going for a walk was, he couldnt go up and down stairs, he didnt know what a cookie was, and when you put your hand up like your gunna pet him he ducks. Im so glad i got him out of that place, the house was a disaster. He is a friendly pup, just not neutered yet. He goes for a bath today, and to the vet on saturday. i'll post a pic of him after hes cleaned lol. i hope all goes well with this.
